Q&A Good practices guides

The opening and accessibility of cultural sites to citizens and tourists, and generation of new open-air museums and Visitor Centres is an exciting challenge, that has to be carefully planned, studied and managed if we want
it to be sustainable from a social, environmental, architectural, artistic and economic perspective.

With that purpose, the project facilitates the mobility and exchange of experiences among cultural experts and decision-makers of different fields and profiles (experts on cultural management & communication, town-architects, curators, politicians, etc.), in order to discuss in technical workshops about the already identified and agreed 3 key issues:
  • Workshop 1, on Management of Services for Visitors at Cemeteries
  • Workshop 2, on Conservation & Restoration issues linked to Cemeteries
  • Workshop 3, on the Promotion of the Cemeteries and their surrounding territories
As a conclusion, we decided to create a new kind of good-practices guides, through “Questions & Answers” formats. As far as the topics are concerned, the 3 guides will follow the issues identified in the 3 Workshops (Guide 1=Management of Services for Visitors at Cemeteries; Guide 2=Conservation & Restoration; Guide 3=Promotion & Communication).

A first part of the work will thus consist in identifying and selecting 100 key questions that any organisation should ask itself when it decides to promote its cemetery as open-air museums.

Anyone interested is invited to send their Questions and participate in discussions at EUCEMET Google+ page or Google+ page of ASCE.
